We bring creativity and expertise to everything we do.
Langley’s Views of Rome series includes a number of sketchbook travelogues that developed spontaneously during walks through the historic city center. These abbreviated studies on location are then used as the foundational compositions for more fully developed work.
Langley sketchbooks are bound and unbound volumes of archival and handmade papers used by artist as a vital part of his creative process. The Langley Artworks Studio maintains a collection of dozens of these volumes, offering a glimpse into the private studies and evolving ideas of the artist and his journey. These sketches include: Observations: including documentation of the external world, including travel logs, architectural details, anatomical studies, drawings of the model and nature studies. Memories: including the artist's internal journey, capturing memories, digressions and compositional ideas as they develop into finished works. Media: experimentaion with materials, tools and techniques
